Founded in 1885 by Henry Engel, Engel Bindery has been binding new books and rebinding old ones, as well as producing customized stationery since then to present day. The Engel family sold out in 1953, but the bindery has been family owned since. Short runs of books from one to one thousand are mainly what we are keeping ourselves busy with today. A lot of the rebinding still has to be done the same way that it was when the business first started. The old art of book work is still alive and well here at Engel.

Currently we make three standard products for churches: two types of choir binders, and a Friendship Register that have been selling for over 50 years. We bind new books, and rebind old ones, make new post binders, and customized binders and bindings of all configurations as well as foil stamping or embossing by hand, or automatic presses, the only thing that holds our customers back is imagination and money. If it can be sewn, bound, foil stamped or embossed, from a nice smyth sewn real leather binding, to a perfect bound paperback book, Engel Bindery can do it.
